Performance

This thing is fast. On 3-inch deck screws into pressure-treated lumber, it sank fasteners flush in under a second and a half, consistently, without cam-out — even one-handed, which matters when you’re bracing a board with your other hand. The four-mode speed control is the real differentiator versus cheaper impact drivers: mode 4 is genuinely usable for driving screws close to a finished edge without splitting the wood, something most impact drivers just can’t do gracefully.

Runtime on a 5.0Ah battery got us through a full day of deck work with one battery swap. The POWERSTATE brushless motor barely got warm even during a 40-minute stretch of continuous lag screw driving, which is more than we can say for cheaper brushless motors we’ve tested.
